[FB Group Challenge #8] Approve New Members, Tag & Welcome

OK, welcome to lesson 8 of The 10 Leads in 10 Days Facebook Group Challenge.

If you've missed any of the other lessons, you can find them here…

So now you've been getting some leads / members into your group, and posting content on a daily basis… you'll need to know what to do with your new leads / members next…

So, in this training I'll explain how to APPROVE your new members, and tag them in a welcome post in your Facebook group…

You can ONLY do this step when you've got some new members waiting to join your Facebook group… and those new members MUST have come to you to ask if they can join your group…

(They cannot be people you've just added randomly… and in fact, you must not add them randomly or you'll get in trouble and lose people's respect.)

Remember that new members = new leads!

Here Are The Action Steps For This Lesson

There are only a couple of action steps for this lesson… and they are very simple…

Yes, it takes a little bit of time to do depending on how many new members you have, but I PROMISE you it is worth it… and it is very necessary.

See, in a world where very few people speak to each other and reach out and connect… the extra time it takes to use the “High Touch” personal approach is worth its weight in gold…

Step 1: Approve New Members in Batches

I usually do my work in batches. And rather than approving one person, then another etc… (which takes time) I approve people all together, which saves time and creates leverage.

If you only have 3 new members with no sign of getting any more, then approve just the three (3) of them… you don't have to wait until ten new members, however if you have 5-10 new members coming in each day… then do them in batches of ten.

So, as long as you've got your group settings set in the right way, (more about this in lesson #9), you will manually approve new members without them just joining automatically… (This creates an extra step in the process, and adds in the “High Touch” aspect…which is very important.)

Step 2: Tag All New People in a Welcome Post

Once we approve our new members, we then create a welcome post, add an image of us smiling and tag them so they see the post…

The reason you need to do this is because when people comment under the post, it counts as ENGAGEMENT which is key to ensure your members follow what you are doing, see your group posts and network with each other…

No Engagement = No Interested People

We also add a picture of us smiling and waving at the camera, however you do not have to do this step… and you could use a regular welcome image, or no image at all… but I find it works well with building the relationship faster…

Here's an example of our welcome post… (Of course you'll need o create your own… but we usually ask where in the world or country they live and ask them to introduce themselves…)

You don't have to put a link at the bottom of the welcome post, however if/when you create a free report / lead magnet, or have a way to monetise your group, it is a good place to put your link so everybody in your group will see it…

We put a link to our Online Network Marketers Blueprint free video series as it helps our members learn the basics of our powerful 6 Step Sales & Sponsoring Sequence…

And that is pretty much it for this step…

If you don't have any new members… then you need to work hard at making new friends on Facebook, chatting to them and then posting different teaser messages each week until you find something that people want…

Also, you can drive traffic from anywhere else to your Facebook group… you could drive traffic from your Blog, Instagram, Pinterest, Fan Page, FB Profile, Youtube, Twitter etc etc… so your Facebook group becomes a “collection point” for all people who want to take the next step with you…

  1. Thank You Gavin.

I have had a lot of help from lesson number 8 in my group with saying hi to new members.

I had the opportunity to be an admin / owner of a group that sells used books for students.

The couple who started it didn´t have time for it anymore so they asked a question and I grabbed the opportunity since I saw some benifts in it. There are 14k plus members in it. 🙂

Maybe in advertising from another Campus bookstore that sell used books here in Sweden both online and in real stores on different locations.
Or some other nice affiliate coloborations with them and others.

And if it goes fine maybe it is possible to sell the group?

But now I am going to get it more structured in how people placing ads and that I welcome new members to the group.

Some people just can´t handle that I set up some small tips (rules) how to post ads in buy and sell groups.

And when I monitor the posts for approval, I always finds buyer and seller.
I approve the ads and then do a quick search and find a match.

Sometimes I remember when scrolling thru the group that a person just posted that he/she was looking for that book, and baam my memory tells me to use the search function in the group and I always tag people that looking for a boo or if they are selling.

And I can give one tip if You people only uses Facebook on mobile.
Dowload the app Facebookgroups so You can do search in that particulare group You are member of.

It has helped many of my members when searching for customers for their used books.
And it has helped me to monitor the group on the go.

    Best regards from Sweden //

    Peter
